The latest developments in the 2009 F2000 schedule are as follows, with the reasoning behind these changes.
----Road America April 24-26 is cancelled. Due to the necessary previous adjustment with VIR replacing the cancelled Savannah event one week later in April, which made the proximity to Road America much tighter, time was a major issue. While some had questioned the weather at Road America in late April it is as likely to be fine spring days as it is cold, blustery and snow flurries. We'll watch with interest. Given the current economic state it was decided that this was the best course of action in the interest of all. We apologize to NASA and Road America and hope and expect to return in 2010 on a date to be determined.
----VIR is to be a three day event beginning Thursday April 9 with testing in the morning and two official practice sessions in the afternoon. Friday and Saturday will feature morning qualifying and afternoon racing. The Saturday race will be early in the afternoon in order to allow all the opportunity to make travel plans and be home for Easter Sunday. Load in will be Wednesday April 8 beginning at noon, Hoosier will be there of course.  This development will accomodate those asking to avoid the Easter weekend to some degree.
----Lime Rock will be Friday through Monday May 22-25 with races both Saturday and Monday and no track activity on Sunday. Load in is to be Thursday May 21 at a time to be announced.
----Mosport is to be a three day event , Friday through Sunday June 12-14, there will be no Thursday testing, load in is noon Thursday June 11, we will NOT be in the kart track as in 2008  but in the main paddock.
----Watkins Glen is to be a four day event Thursday through Sunday July 2-5. Load in is scheduled for late afternoon Wednesday July 1. As this is the IRL weekend procedures are sure to be very tight. Thursday is tentatively scheduled to include morning testing and afternoon official practice sessions.
----Summit Point is July 16-19 with twilight testing on the Thursday the 16th, load in noon Thursday the 16th.
----Mid Ohio is August 13-16 again with twilight testing on Thursday July 13, load in noon Thursday August 13. There will  be an awards party in the Mid Ohio area Sunday evening so if possible plan on staying until Monday.
----The previously announced change to unleaded fuel is rescinded. With SCCA and the GCR still mandating leaded fuel for FC we want to avoid issues for those crossing over between F2000 and Club Racing. The intent was seen as not only a "green" move but also a savings to budgets. However, research shows that legality and testing procedures dictate we return to Sunoco/Cam 2 Purple 110 Leaded fuel.
Except for Mosport, which will require Sunoco Ultra 94 as available in Canada and Watkins Glen where we will spec Sunoco/Cam 2 Blue 112 Octane Unleaded as the track does not sell 110  Purple.
----Robert Wright has the updated 1.340 restrictor plates available as does Quicksilver RacEngines, contact Robert at 518-821-5702 or email him at This email address is being protected from spambots. ----The updated ECU map will be available for downloading from the SCCA website for those with the appropriate ECU connections and the series will flash all ECU's at VIR.
